I have a gripped Xti, 18-55 IS, 50mm, 430ex flash and possibly getting a 50 - 250 lens in the future. Which million dollar home bag fits all that?

I'm thinking about the 5MDH. I saw one at the store (going to order mine online, it's much cheaper) and it looks like it will fit your gear fairly (including the 50-250), but you won't really have room for much more.

I would go with either the 6 or 7 if I were you as they have substantially more room. I have a Lowepro Flipside 300 to carry all my gear and want the 5 as a walkaround bag for just a body+lens, a flash, and maybe another lens.

quoting myself from another thread:
;7017203']+1 on the 6 MDH. It holds everything I own right now: 450D, 18-55IS w/ hood, 50mm w/hood, 28-135IS w/hood, charger, sd cards, external card reader, manuals, rocket blower, lens caps, extra filters, small notepad and pen... with room for maybe a flash and some extra batteries and other small items...

6 million dollar home would fit all that and leave room to fit 2 more medium size lenses or a large one.

I can fit 40d + 17-40L gripped | 50mm f/1.8 | 70-200 f/2.8 | 430ex | 100mm all in a 6mdh.

do you want to stack any lenses? or do you want each lens to have their own little home? You could probably do a 5mdh but everything would be pretty tight. If you wanted a little bit of growing room, I'd say the 6mdh would be a better choice if you wanted to not jam pack the bag. Have you checked out their website? they've got a good video showing what exactly they fit in the bags.

My 6MDH fits my 70-200 2.8L, Sigma 30mm, Sigma 10-20mm, and my 20D and has some room to spare. Thats not including a handful of batteries and memory cards, etc in the pockets.

There are three main pockets that can each fit a lens the size of a 70-200 comfortably, or two smaller lenses. Although I think if you put lenses in all three pockets, things would be crammed pretty tightly. Two pockets with lenses + 1 with a flash or body works though.

Here's a link (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=6821314&postcount=3) to show how I fit everything in my bag.

The 7 is too big, the 5 is too small. Your best bet is the 6. It will all you have and more when you buy more gears. I have the 7 and when it's loaded, forget it, it's too heavy.. good thing that I am 6ft 2ins and about 240lbs of muscles. :)

Definitely the 6 MDH! It's possible to stuff everything in the 5 MDH, but it would be really, really tight and it would be a pain when you reached in to pull something out.

+1. Definitely get 6M. The 5M is actually very small.

I agree with the 6 MDH. You could get away with the 5 MDH, but you would need to lose your grip.

7MDH isn't as big as one would think.

I think its a fantastic bag and just right for 2 spare lenses, and one mounted on a body (esp a gripped body).

Mine has a 70-200L f/2.8 IS, 5DMk2 w/ 24-10L mounted, 85 f/1.8, 1.4x TC, and a bunch of accessories (rocketblower, CF cards, charger, remote release, 12 AA batteries, etc) and I still have 1 extra lens slot open (430 could easily fit)

I'm a pretty big guy too, about the same size as the above poster, and I think the 7MDH would be heavy fully loaded. If I have my 6MDH fully loaded, and I carry it around all day, its light enough so that it doesn't bother me, but heavy enough so that I think if it were much heavier it would be a PITA to carry around all day.

I was wary that the 6MDH might be too small, but it seemed like the perfect sized day bag once it arrived.

If I need to carry around all my gear, I'll use my CompuTrekker.

How do you know how big I am?

And yes, the 7MDH home is heavy fully loaded; depending on what you put in it.

Oh ok, I was wondering.

Just for reference, I'm 6'0" & 265 of (mostly) muscle...but I'm puttin' up 300+. So I guess we are about the same size then.

I just wanted to make sure you weren't that guy who keeps looking at me in the gym (not that there is anything wrong with that...I'm just not that way). :p

No need to fear, Crumpler Man is here!!!

6MDH hands down would be the best bet and most comfortable. The 5MDH would be getting into a tight squeeze especially since it doesn't come with that many dividers. It should fit it all but they'll be touching and that's all it will fit. If you have a chance try them out but if not I'd say go ahead with the 6MDH.

What makes you 'Crumpler Man'? If its shear volume of products owned, then I should be called, "useless light modifiers Man".

And it will be so ;) Now where's that TF when we need them?

I've got the crumpler 6 mil on it's way. For light travel, wanted a bag that wasn't too big or too small and the six seems to fill that need. If I need to take everything, I'm using a backpack (Kata 3N1-20).

BTW, is there a new 2009 model of the million dollar bags? Saw this on flickr..

That might be why they offered a 40% sale to get rid of all their old bags.

If you were really Crumpler Man, you'd have pictures of your own Crumpler Robot somewhere.

There are special edition colors out now, that's all. I do. But I prefer my Crumpler Dude over the Robot.

Yeah, the wife won't allow that and i have nothing else metal of mine to stick one too. I used to have one on my desk but now it's crammed with a bit more than use to.

Even though I haven't seen one in person, I'm going to have to agree. I just got my 6 MDH and the first thing I thought was, "Wow, it's pretty small". I bought the 6 cause I only wanted to bring the neccesities and it does exactly that but I bet the 7 would be just as fine as well. The good thing is the 6 will limit how much I'll carry at one time so it'll stay lighter compared to the 7.

The 7MDH is quite large. I knew the 6MDH would be the size I needed and actually wanted in a daily bag, but it's not tall enough. I typically leave my 70-200 attached and as such need a bag that accommodates that. Although I only use the 7MDH for events and weddings, the same principle follows.
