Anybody from the Oly area or around Tacoma maybe?

I would like to get to know a few people in the area that also are at least simi serious amatures. I work well with somebody to bounce ideas off of and get concepts from.

I work in Olympia, living in Centralia. Shooting primarily wildlife and sports but do point the camera at other stuff on occasion.

You can see some of my work at the zenfolio link in my sig. if you see something there that you are interested in there and have questions about feel free to ask. If you have a look at my gear list you might see that I am at least a bit semi-interested in photography. ;)

From that kind of gear list I assume you work in the industry as well. :) I like your shots quite a lot. I was at the zoo yesterday and got some pretty nice shots of some animals, I am still relearning a LOT about speeds ISO and aperture settings and the combination's required to do a lot of shots. I liked your humming bird shots a lot, it is very impressive how fast they can move those wings, even taken at 1/2000 it was still slightly blurring. Just very nice.

Thanks for the nice words, I don't work in photography except the occasional thing for a Tacoma magazine or an occasional portrait or senior picture. The gear is just for me to have fun with, the right tool for the job so to speak.

Thats a lot of really nice gear for the occasional thing. :) I am trying to talk the wife in to letting me spend another 150$+ for a decent little tripod and a 50mm f1.8 or 300-400ish for a 28 f1.8 but it will most likely never happen. Ahah I'm jealous of most people's equipment on here, but that's Ok it gives me something to look forward to and drool over for a while.

I am from Oly, previously Tacoma, shoot semi professionally, I know there are a few others from the area here. We did a Seattle Potn meet a few years back, missed last years...will probably plan something for the spring...
