I have just recently bought my first DSLR. I have always loved taking pictures with a point and shoot, but wanted to have more control over my pictures. That being said I am trying to learn my new camera without using the auto settings. I went out today and shot at the Courthouse this is my first time really going out and playing with it. I would like some input on a couple of the pictures, as far as what could have been done better our whats wrong with them. Thank you and nice work to you all, your forum has been very interesting to read.
I cant figure out how to embed the photos in the actual post, but this link takes you to the album with the 4 photos in it

Welcome to the forum.
You asked for comments so here goes:
1) you picked some nice interesting subjects and compositions - try to keep going with this
2) try to vary the aperture. I noticed they were all at f10 whereas some would have looked better with a wider aperture (smaller depth of field which gives more blur to the backgrounds) and others would have been better with a narrower aperture (larger depth of field which gives less blur )
Next time you find something you find interesting, try taking shots at all aperture settings. You will be surprised at the difference it can make.
