Took some shots of my local 'pro' wrestling event. Overall entertaining show, but lighting was tough from the bleachers. It was fun though.

Is this a sport? It's more a choreographed event.

I wonder if this would be better off in the Performing Arts section?

Most of traditional martial arts exhibits are as well, yet I don't see anyone having a problem with those shots being displayed in the "sports" forum. One could also argue the "sports" status of Olympic ice skating, Nascar, boat racing and body building- activities widely accepted as sports. There are many examples to be had, but I digress...

I think these shots are pretty good considering the lighting and distance from the ring. Cool action shots.

You mean these events you've mentioned actually sit down, discuss and plan who will win, and how it will be done beforehand?

Wow, you learn something new everyday.

You can take winning and losing out of the pro wrestling equation as it is just a part of the performance. Pro wrestling is an athletic performance, but the performance aspect does not negate the athleticism involved. Based on the athletic aspect, it's my position that the photos are in the correct forum.

I like these photos, but yeah, I think that we should have a new forum category, performing artistic sport. That will settle the debate ;) Ehh, to be a pro wrestler, you have to be able to be somewhat strong, so I guess they'd be body builders, which is a sport right?

...thanks for the input

but yeah, "pro" wrestling may be fixed but not fake. There is nothing fake about getting hit with a chair or taking a slam in the ring. With that said, it is a performance...
