Hoya Clear Filter Experience

Does anyone have experience with the 77mm Clear Pro 1 Digital Multi-Coated Glass Filter by Hoya? I just ordered a 17-40 L and always put a filter on my lenses. Normally I order the B+W MRC UV filter but I see the price is now much higher than previously ($120) where the Hoya clear is $70. I'm open to spending the money if necessary, but do not want to spend anymore than needed to get what I am after protection with minimal to no image loss. The Hoya Pro 1 Digital is the same as their HMC filters. Do not spend the extra money on the Pro 1 Digital over the HMC. I have some Hoya HMCs and I think they are fine.* Hoya's "best" filters are their S-HMCs (Super HMC).

Apparently hvstar.net (http://hvstar.net/) is the place to go for filters. B+W MRC UV filter 77mm - $60.50. I have not shopped there personally. (I have trouble getting that website to load at work.)

I have the Kenko version on my 16-35. I can't tell any difference in image quality with or without it on the lens. It does a great job sealing the lens.

I use HVSTAR, they are reliable, non-dodgy but bit slower shipping. Their prices are fantastic.
I have Hoya and B&H clear filters, just because I decided to give both a try. I use the 'HOYA PRO1 D Digital 82 82mm UV(0) Filter DMC THIN' (taken off an order) for my 16-35. Both B&H and Hoya are good, I think B&H are a little easier to clean, but for image quality are on the same par.
Make sure you get the thin one (I forget how their naming system works), because you're using it on a super-wide angle lens on a full-frame camera.
