Thanks guys ...and Marie ;) ,
Neil and Marie,
That is Vasco da Gama Bridge in Lisbon. Marie already knew it :D.
is the longest bridge in Europe and I have already posted some photos of it here before (can't find the links now).
Michael,
Yup! It is a print. Did it just now in A4 on my S900 and it came out even better than the I expected.
Sandy,
Thanks for that. I have been seeing some of your fine snow photos. We have none here :p (27 C today).:cool:
Wintoid,
Hmm... I'll post a "possibly good B&W" warning next time. He,he!;)
caesars0331,
My post processing was:
Levels -> Hue/ Saturation (up 15) -> Channel Mixer
On the Chanel mixer layer I went to the green and blue and set them to zero.
Returned to the red channel and set to monochrome:
Then increased the red slide to 110%;
Green to 6%.
Increased Contrast to my liking with Curves.
For the web I dowsized to 800 pxls and USM 90; 0,3; 0.
For printing I used the Marquee tool to set A4 (297x210mm) and then USM 110; 0,3; 0.
I have tried many ways of processing B&W but this seems to be the one that yelds the best results for me.
Now I'm of to bed... it's 02:00H AM here :shock:.

Ha... Bruce and Control Z,
Thanks guys.
You posted while I was writing :D.
The curvature is really there it's not an effect. It had to be done that way to avoid much deeper stacks.

I know you have already gone to bed but maybe you will read this tomorrow. I really love the shot and would like permission to use it in a PowerPoint on Bridges.
I teach advanced Physics and we have a bridge building competition with students making paper bridges. (See attached photo at http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=60373&highlight=bridge+building)
I collect images that I use on for educational purposes but I always ask permission before hand. If you would like to stamp the picture in the corner with your name or a copy right that would be fine or I could do it for you. I always put a disclaimer at the end of the PowerPoint about images used by permission of photographer and then site the photographer.
Sincerely,

J. Grizzle,
You are more then welcome to use the photo.
I take photos for pleasure, and I can assure you that I am very pleased knowing a photo I've taken will be used for educational purposes.
If you wish I can also send you the version prepared for printing that might give you a better resolution for addapting to PowerPoint.

I like these, and I see my friend Wintoid has pitched in too.
Not that there is anything wrong with it, but #2 minus motorboat but otherwise the same would be an uncanny pic I reckon.

Wow Guys. Thanks for those nice comments.
The 70-200 f4L is really an awesome lens. Wouldn't call it "walkaround" due to the big size and weight, but it is awesome for a great variety of photography like protraits and (as above) landscape.
I will post the color version once I get home again. Have to go out now, it's Dads day here.
