EVGA just came out with a new "Overclocking Enthusiasts" X58 motherboard for the Intel I7, and Nforce 200 chipset.

This thing looks seeeeeexy! I'm getting that when I do my upgrade to i7 in couple of months.

Wait a bit for them to work the bugs out. I had purchased and returned 3 different EVGA 790i boards, then went with the 780 for my QX9650 Extreme chip. The 780 is a solid and stable platform. 790 - not so much from the three that I returned. The 750 also has problems.

Take the above advice and wait at least 4 ~ 6 months before climbing onboard a new chipset design.

Sucks to hear, but I ended up purchasing a Intel Core i7 940 and EVGA 58X yesterday. My only computer crapped out on me, so it kind of just worked out..

CANT WAIT till they arrive next week.

I only use Asus boards, I've never had one fail and love their features. Running a P6T Deluxe "OC Palm Edition" at the moment.

Actually... the X58 chipsets are pretty stable already.

And from the reviews over on hardforums, the EVGA X58 is a solid board with no problems or issues.

Very nice. I might pick one up. I'm very much going to go for the i7 Extreme. I have the quad core qx9650 extreme now. They're FUN. :)

I would love to have that model but, my ASUS Rampage 2 Extreme is very stable. Plus, I upgraded to dual EVGA 295 GTXs in SLI.

That is true but usually the manufacture has released bios updates to correct any user reported bugs with the board in question. I try to at least get 24 + months from a particular board and processor.

There are so many different hardware configurations possible that a company has no way of testing all these combination's. Generally once they hit mainstream usage the die hard techies will report any problems and usually the better manufactures offer bios updates fairly quick.

That's been my experience with both Asus and now with my current MSI board.

I'm running the i7 965 @ 4.3 with liquid cooling. I haven't run into any issues at all. I could probably push it a little more but, it's running just fine. As far as heat is concerned, if you're case is good with ventilation you should have no problems. I'm using the Cooler Master HAF 932 and it's the best case out there imo.

Edit: The 295s are running like a charm and I even have it overclocked using EVGA precision. I never owned the 9800 gx2 but, these cards run pretty cool even when I place my hand on it. I assume it's the plates around the cards that help dissipate heat. I've played Counter Stirke: Source, Team Fortress 2 , Left 4 Dead, Far Cry 2, Crysis Warhead, Call of Duty World at War with these cards. So far, my gaming experience has been excellent. Running LR2 and CS3 has been a real charm esp. if you're using a 64 bit OS.
