Quite a bit of extra negative space on the left. Might get more impact from some judicious cropping all around.

If you had a bored looking blond bombshell (or even a brunette) sitting next to you it would be better. Could use a little sharpening I think; but it's a nice tonal range.

I kind of like the negative space, robert. Adds to the lonely feel of the picture to me.

Robert_Lay, does this work better. I was going for having dead space to the left, but if it looks bad let me know.

Another in preference of the space to the left. It adds to the sense of loneliness/isolation.

There is nothing particularly mysterious about the left side, it is dark tho'.
I like it better cropped.

Plug Ipod into dashboard in car, put car in gear, drive to some bright lights and press shutter button. turn 180 degrees, press shutter button several more times. Repeat until the outside world has faded into self controlled thought Resistance is Futile

I like your crop.

My eyes spend a lot less time swimming through the murky left finding nothing. They feast on the detail of the detail of the figure - in particular the hands and the iPod - which is exactly the way it should be (That's where the greatest contrast is found).

i like the crop;
not because of the dead space to the left of the subject (which i like), but because my eye was distracted by the clutter right of the lamp....nice shot
