I am game for this . . . and I can't get my horizon off either! I had to travel 150 miles south to take this, but I KNEW that it would come in handy. Thanks for starting this beautiful post!

Flowers are still just a rumor here in Michigan ...

Very nice shots Jerry and RJ !!

Nice shots, fellas. Mine may not qualify, since hibiscus blooms year-round here. However, it's the only flower I've photographed recently. BTW, the background didn't blur as much as I wanted, even at f 1.8, so I blurred it more in PS.

How do you guys get such good results? I am brand new to this forum, and use my old ixus-i4 for everything, so the quality isn't great, but i was quite happy with that image above!

I think this is the first flower pic that i've been happy with this year... taken on Ranmore Common about 2 hours ago... lying in the grass surrounded by them and using a 300m lens. It's the first time i've tried using the long lens to make a short DOF, but i'm happy enough that i'll be trying it again... bring on the bluebells... then i know summer's coming for sure.

It's quite a dark overcast sky and not very photo cooperative, but not many more days left for the daffodil fields; this may be my only chance before the tulips come on strong.

cheers ccM ... and although its cold there now, you know that your summers are much more settled than ours... so it evens out i think... for all we know, this weekend may BE our sumer... just as milou states... "blue sky shocker"

I like Jerry's Crocus' [sp?] best of all the pics so far... i think because i've tried to et them, but fail to get the DOF right everytime... nice capture Jerry... and nice exposure too. :)

100mm macro. Obviously we're a bit late here in Paris, compared with California.

But we're on a waaaay more northerly latitude! ;)

Here is one I did the other day and played around with a little oil paint effect.
I think it gives it an almost dreamy effect.

This is the first flower to bloom in my garden this year. Wales' national flower to celebrate our win in the rugby yesterday :) Taken with my little A60.

Playing with my new toys, a new 350 XT and a 70-200 f4L. Haven't been able to get all the settings the way I want them yet, but enjoying the process!

Here are some of the first shots I took with my 10D and 70-300IS last April. Our flowers aren't up yet (except for a dandelion or two!)

I'm cheating, because these are planted flowers, but hey they're flowers and it's the first day of spring, so why not!

We didn't get any snow this year and the wind is blowing pretty hard today. But, I wanted to include a flower from my backyard, so I pulled out the trusty 100mm macro.

Here's one I took a couple of days ago. Very overcast day, so there's no sky to speak of.
