Hey, im glad to be here, and im hoping i could get some help :D
I have to photograph a 21 year old birthday Friday night. its at a restaurant/ballroom type of place. I own a canon eos 400d , the 2 kit lenses, a 430ex flash, a tripod and a fish eye auxiliary lens. im going to get there earlier with the dj and cameraman so im already thinking of taking shots of the restaraunt, den the tables and probably the main table if there is one. Im pretty sure its going to be low light most of the time. I would appreciate if anyone could give me some useful tips/info/ and a heads up. What kind of shots should i take and so on...

-Thanks

im a noob, but id say stick to the flash most of the time, get a diffuser (or make one) id take the usual mtv looking party shots (angled slightly, over the crowd) and some portrait type shots of people together, and maybe like some ominous still crowd shots with a wide angle view from a corner of the room, dont know how to explain that one but...it should come to you, just think cliche` and you'll be fine. oh and dont forget the 21 year old and his date!
