Hi, I've just uploaded some pix from a Venice trip this Feb.
Shot on EOS 20D RAW, Sigma 15-30mm EX and Tamron 28-75/2.8 Di,
2GB Lexar 80x card and a Flashtrax 20MB picture bank.
Both these lenses are outstanding, though the Sigma is definitely better at the wide end. I was confident using it wide open at 15mm. The Tamron was uniformly excellent.
cheers

Absolutely gorgeous! Man! You can compose! You seem to have quite a handle on light and shadows too!
I have to ask though, how common is snow in Venice? Is this normal, or are things really changing?

Stunning photos. The Venetian authorities should send you money for showcasing their city so beautifully.

The ones with the snow are nice (one has seen the "regular" Venice sooo many times before) ;)

Ohhhh I"m SO jealous. Venice is like the ONE place I WILL go to before I die. I love that city, it looks like its so beautiful and would be the perfect place for a photographer to take pictures. The pictures are great. *sigh*

Hi, all, thanks for the positive comments.
I heard Venice was beautiful in the snow, but this was a complete freak cold snap all over Europe in Feb, so it was just luck.
The only thing I'd do differently next time (and it is a magical place, so I will go back one day) would be take a small camera, as people freak out when they see the 20D, grip and the 15-30! I had to check it in at all the galleries, whereas with a G6.. ;-)
cheers, Phil
