We went to an abandoned asylum the other night in Rockville MD. They have begun tearing down the buildings, and only the main building remains. The asylum apparently used intense treatments and tests on its subjects, including the infamous MK-ULTRA project. More info:

We couldn't get inside the building as everything was locked down and the windows seemed nailed shut. Unfortunately it was so dark many of the pictures I took came out unfocused. Armed with my kit lense, these are the some of the best ones, enjoy:

Buddy of mine has the keys for that place. VERY creepy. I shot it on B&W film a few years ago when the campus was healthier, the gym, cafeteria, and 4 dorms. Cool inside, right? Did you go in?

Actually we didn't get to go in :( Everything was locked up and the doors were pretty well sealed. Even standing outside on the front doorstep was a creepy experience.

Creepy shots. I like #1 best - it has a very nice colour tone to it. Well caught.

It was better before they tore all the buildings down. What's left over there? Is the pool/gymnasium still there?

Yeah it was without a doubt better before I'm sure, but the only thing that is left is what you see in the pictures, that main building.

I think they are developing around it, there are a ton of new houses right around it. Kind of eerie!
