I tried my hand at a B&W conversion. I tried using the channels method. I admire the work of Ann Snelson and hope to create photos of that quality. How am I doing??

Very nice. How did you create those frames?

Wow....over 150 views and no comments. Is this a case of "if there is nothing good to say, don't say anything at all"? :}

Airedale----the frames were created in PS E3. Image-->Resize-->Canvas Size. Enter a size larger than the size of you photo(I usually switch to pixels) and also choose what color you want the canvas to be. I think it a similar operation in for other versions of PS.

I reckon the B&W turned out great... I love the little kids eyes :)

I think #1 is definately the better of the two, and maybe you could up the contrast a little... but I'm not sure about that. I would be happy with them if they were mine.

Hi John,
I think the only change I would make would be to have Mom remove her glasses. I know she probably wears them all the time, but they just look harsh with all the soft curves of the bodies.

Agreed. Wish she had removed the glasses. Looks good.

I agree. However, I am sure that the glasses are as much a part of her as the child is and that if they were not there a part of her would be missing.
Just another way to see a beautiful photograph.
