This is a great photo...hope you don't mind that I cropped it and added some contrast to bring out those beautiful feathers.

Even though the tighter crop shows the main subject better, it is generally thought that it is better if the main subject is looking "into" the frame, not "out of" the frame. In the tighter crop, if the hawk and tree branch were exchanged, and if the hawk were looking toward the center, then that would be good. So, the original shot still has merit.

I guess you are a lot more technical than I am Bob, LOL. I should have just increased the contrast and left it alone........was wanting those feathers to pop out a bit more.
