hello! this is my first post and i didnt know where to do my introduction...

since i have a couple of pictures i want to share, i decided to introduce myself here at CC section...

im a newbie that took photo101 in school waaaay back...im starting to get my photo experience and went ahead and got a canon 50D...it's currently back to the store since i decided not to keep it but now im wanting to get it back...should i? :D

anyways here are the random photos i took.. tell me what you think....

I like your last shot the best. With some color correction and removing the window, the wind chimes could be very interesting :)
Be careful..the CC section can get rough!!!

If you are really new to photography then you can probably learn an awful lot with a much cheaper camera. If money is an issue, leave the 50D at the store and get a nice $300 point and shoot. After a year or so of learning how to shoot in manual mode you can reconsider the DSLR. Obviously there is a world a difference between what you can do with a point and shoot and something like a 50d with 50mm and a speedlite. But you can get the same results as you have posted here with a cheaper camera.


I like the composition in your pictures. You either remember the rule of thirds from photography 101or you just have a good eye. :) Your white balance is off and the exposure needs work, but you're off to a good start. Learning can be a lot of fun no matter what camera you end up with. good luck!
