I am shooting basket ball pictures in kids school tomorrow.
Could someone give me tips on how to use external flash for basket ball pictures.
Here is what i am thinking:
ISO 800 (beyond 800 would be really bad on Xti)
Shutter Speed 1/200
Aperture F5.6 (with 55-250IS)
Bounce off the ceiling probably 45 degrees up.
Does this look reasonable?

No, this does not look reasonable. I'm gonna write that you will need to shoot at f/2 to f/2.2 and you will need ISO 1600. You can bounce off the ceiling, but set your flash-zoom manually instead of letting it set itself to 50mm. You can also bounce off the wall behind you. Or something else.
There are LOTS of threads on this in the SportsTalk and Sports forum. Good luck!

Here is one such thread with very recent posts: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=626964 but you should be able to easily find at least 10 more.

Thanks for your reply. My 55-250 lens doesn't go beyond f 4.5 so there is no option for me to use f2 or f 2.2.
So, should I not use ettl?
