I just got a 50D with the 28-135mm IS lens yesterday. I've been using Canon SLR cameras since I graduated high school. It all started with a Rebel G 35mm. That camera was sold once I got the Digital Rebel (300D) almost exactly 5 years ago.
The upgrade bug has been nibbling for a while now. It bit once I heard about the 50D last September. I heard about an upcoming camera war between the 50D and Nikon D90 at another forum back then. It was just a matter of waiting until the holidays were over.
Aircraft, scenery, wildlife and my neice and my favorite things to photograph. I loved going to the airport while I was stationed near Frankfurt a. M., Germany. It was a six mile bike ride from where I lived. To bad I moved before the Airbus A380 did some test flights around there. I did get some pictures at the Berlin airshow in 2006 though. They would've turned out a lot better if it didn't get cloudy. :mad:
My equipment consists of the following:
50D
100-400mm L IS
18-55mm non-IS for APS-C
28-135mm IS
Lowepro Photo Trekker AW
Various filters
I initially joined to figure out if I want to keep the 18-55mm or 28-135mm. Hopefully I'll be able to figure that out after doing some reading here. It will also be nice to learn a lot of stuff about the 50D and other stuff about photography in general. This forum looks like it has a lot of members with a lot of activity. I looks forward to being a member here.
Now I'm to decide which lens I want to keep.
