I'm looking to get a new monitor and I actually found a Sony Bravio 26" LCD HiDef Television with PC hookups. The contrast ratio is 2500:1 compared to 1000:1 on most 24" monitors. Does anyone have an opinion on what kind of difference you would see in color between the two? The price difference is only around $100.

Make sure the TV does 1920x1080 (24" computer monitors are 1920x1200).
You aren't going to want to work with photos on a 26" that only does 1280x720.

Can you give us the models? Sometimes companies like to put up the dynamic contrast ratio which I think has to do with under powering the back light which has an effect on lighting of non-dark images. [Static] contrast ratio provides better image quality vs dynamic. A screen with a 2000:1 contrast ratio will also cost more than a screen of 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
