These are shots of the North Dakota State Junior Play-downs.
These where all shot with the nifty fifty. Unfortunately the mercury vapor lights here are not the best.

Curling is a great sport to watch actually. Too bad it isn't on much in a lot of places. Anyway, these shots are very nice. lots of emotion and action in them. Well done.

cool shots the first one is alittle slow on the shutter speed. Im not sure if that is the effect that you are going for. same with the last one also.

I have curled once, but know a load of people who do it as a social night out. Thing that I remember the most is you really have to know how to bend your elbow in the lounge afterward !! :-o

Thanks everyone.

Yes, I was trying to get the sense of motion on the first one and the last one.

Hi RW,

I think you have some good shots here, given the conditions you were working with.

Since you have "IMAGE EDITING OK" on, I have altered two of your shots. If unwanted, I will remove them at once..

1.
I have re-cropped this to show only the main subject, added a little contrast and brightness. What f-stop were you at? It seems everything is in focus...Try and isolate the subject....

2.
Great capture of emotion, so show it...., Added a little contrast and brightness..

Next time, look at the shot and ask, what story am I trying to tell....then crop accordingly...

Happy shooting
