Hi.

I run a small part time business in Social Events Photography, in Sydney, Australia. (for last 2.5 yrs)

I have been asked to cover a wedding in Sydney in March/April 2009.

I have covered a couple of weddings before and the client has used me before for a previous social event.

The client is after social people shots and nice ambience shots and is not expecting ultra professional set up portraiture as such.

But rather just professional looking social, people and atmospheric shots capturing a story through out the day of the wedding.

I am saying this so, you understand what type of work and direction i am taking with this client.

Anyway, I will need an assitant. You will not actually be taking photos most of the time but more so just assisting with camera gear and lighting reflector. I would also like someone who will be able to take direction but who will also be able to offer suggestions in terms different ways to shot the bridal party and bride and groom at some stages. You are welcome to bring your DSLR and take shots at some stages, more "behind the scene shots" if anything.

You must be interested in "Social Event Photography". You must live in Sydney and you must have sample work and be able to showcase your web site and images to me, I dont care of you have done paid work or just hobby photographhy. For me, its more about your character as an assistant and also ability to assist me in a busy setting, upmarket client environment.
You must also be very presentable "attire" wise and who is down to earth yet able to clearly communicate with people with a confident manner and whos is not shy or afraid about getting in the middle of all the action at social events.

I am prepared to pay per hour. If you are a experienced photographer seekeing casual work, then this job "might" not be that suitable as you may get frustraed about not being in control. This is more aimed at someone (in there 20;s or 30;s) who does indeed actually understand camera settings and knows how to use a dslr properly but who has never really been able to be a part of a major event / small income paid job.

If you are intersted, I am not going to go back and forth answering qquestions on this forum. please send me a private message along with your email address. Thanks heaps.
