truly amazing quality, I got the tx10 just for shooting HD. however the TX has photo issues to me. So while the TX was the first to integrate HD video and photo... the 5dMIIclearly got the combination correct!!!!! I am now very interested in this camera (I swore to stick to the XXD and XXXD for my sanity).. although i need more glass first :-)

Wow, I have read some bad reviews on the 5D mk II video but that's not bad! I agree with one of the comments on that site that not having original sound is an issue....but it can be overcome. I think 99% of my clients would love something like this as an extra from their wedding day (although it doesnt replace a pro video guy).

With better editing, L primes, and if the guy mic'd everything professionally, this could ABSOLUTELY replace a videographer's gear.

Editing is so huge, though. That's what will likely set vid pros apart from photogs trying to take a piece of the vid pie :)

Definitely agree with that - the video guys I talk to at weddings seem to spend 2 x the time I do editing.

Very interesting.

One thing I notice right away though (my father has been a videographer for decades) is how slightly shaky the video is. This is most likely due to the fact that this is a still camera body. It's not made to be able to brace and hold steady (shoulder mount) for shooting video.

the DOF does give a quite unique look to the video though.
