Question: What is a "nifty fifty"?
I like the way it blured behind him, what lens did you use?

yea some photoshop is in order. FOr a "cheap lens" the Nifty Fifty is one of my best purchases to date, well besides my 20D. I think every one should have one in their gear bag.
Here is a adjusted shot.

he's gorgeous
it's a lovely shot of him
I prefer the first one right now though
maybe something in between the two would be nice
the tshirt is a bit untidy around the shoulders
being out of focus also and the face is so good that's a little distracting
not for a real casual shot http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif
but this is so nice otherwisehttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif
I have a brother Nicholas too

Thanks. A agree that the post porcess is way off. It was actually a original post show w/no PPW done to show sharpness. We think he is beautiful as well!

Best 70 buck you will ever spend IMHO. I just got the 85mm 1.8 USM and is is a killer hunk o' glass but slightly more $$.
