the 2nd one is very good, mainly because it's such a unique perspective (not many people are allowed to shoot from *on* the stage in front of the musician, unless it was an over-the-head shot).

i would guess you've got some kinda HDR and/or desaturation thing going on. it was also nice use of the flash. off camera, to your left?

I really like these especially #1. Are you holding a flash with your left hand?

Pretty nice for flash! 1/2 second on the second one looks pretty sharp!

Yes, both shots, 430EX off camera with my left hand.

Editing, I shoot in RAW, so I opened up the photos in Photoshop, messed with the exposure, clarity, and vibrance a bit.

Then moved the "Recovery" slider all the way tto 100%

Then in photoshop I went to:

Filters-Artistic-Paint Daubs.

Set paint daubs to the lowest mark for both sliders, and then changed the selection to "Wide Sharp"
This basically gives the photo a verrry slight gritty look while sharpening it

Duplicated the layer, applied Topaz Adjust, set the duped layer to 50% transparency...
