In the "photographers row" on the first base side, obviously sponsored by Nikon....Canon wins 4-2!

And you forgot the Sony in the middle.
Check out guy on the right; looks like his 2nd body doesn't have a cap on. I didn't care so much in the film days, but today... and a foot from the dust, no less.

Good catch! Of course then we'd have to add the Nikon body next to it with it's "guts" exposed to the elements, but isn't that another white lens next to it thats cropped out?
6-3 ? Daisuke Matsuzaka started the game which the Sox one on a bunt / error in the ninth! http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

I've known some lazy photographers like that before. If the dust doesn't reproduce in the newspaper at the reduced size and linescreen, then who cares if it looks like someone sneezed on your JPG.

It's hard not to scan the crowd isn't it? I'd hate to be a celebrity with todays technology!

The people who are shooting are all in portrait orientation. The other two that appear to be waiting for the bus are in landscape orientation. Are they shooting different things?

most likely

From the direction of the lenses, and knowing where the photographer's area is set up, I'm guessing that the portraits are shooting the pitchers delivery and the landscape guys the batter? Of course they're not ready to get any kind of batters reaction like that....then again, Daisuke was not sharp that game, maybe he was walking a few again.....

Just a thought....if the guys focused on the batter have all their settings in place, and are indeed already focused, would it make sense that they would be more likely to capture the shot if they're watching the play unfold...seeing the pitchers delivery, knowing when to expect the ball to cross the plate....and THEN just clicking the shutter at the appropriate time? Any sports photogs out there to comment? Just trying to pick up some tips!

I would shoot that way (pre-focused, watching other action) back in the MF days. I would keep one eye in the finder and the other eye still open so you could look around. These guys have been at it a lot longer than I did it so I'm sure they're more relaxed and better able to anticipate.

I couldn't upload the original file size, but when I zoomed in on the original, I could actually read the Canon or Nikon logo on the Camera bodies and also the straps. The only uncertainty would be the body resting on the concrete with it's back to us. I'm guessing that since the red strap is wrapped around the leg of the woman shooting a Canon, that we're safe to assume it's another Canon! (Not that there's anything WRONG with Nikon...I'll never part with our first SLR...a beloved Nikkormat. I tend to agree with Hoff's philosophy about good photography)
A few additional pics from that game are in my Flickr account if anybody's curious. No more of the camera's tho....it was a minor factor in the game that just caught my eye.
