hello. i've recently gotten serious about photoshop and would like to make sure that my MB's monitor is calibrated correctly so when prints are made - they're exactly as processed.

can this be done solely on the laptop or do i need a third party software to accomplish this? either way, can someone point me in the right directlion.

thanks in advance.

Mac's have an 'eye ball it' calibration as part of the monitor setup and as long as you personally are a good judge of color then this is better than nothing. Laptop screens are not great for color, even after calibration. Laptop screens dim in low light or change brightness when power is removed to save power and those features must be turned off before calibration which decreases battery life. That said, I use Spyder2Pro to calibrate my Mac's and PCs. If you use an secondary screen you can at least have one monitor that is color accurate.
