Here are the last set of Brisbane shots, (with the exception of many animals/sports I could still post ;)).

The Brisbane River Boardwalk

Story Bridge - Very difficult shot, as there was a 2m high fence, plus barbed wire. Ended up resting camera on fence, 1/4th second, IS0 400.

And at the official viewing area. :)

Walking back the length of Ann St, shot this church from across the road. Didn't have time or patience to set some nice shots with this one.

Maybe if I could spell that word. So far, I'm stuck on that one, A M A T ...R
:p
I'm still happy to continue my banking career for the time-being, and keep learning new bits and pieces with this equipment, and need to learn some more post-processing.
Sometimes I guess every week I happen to be at the right place, at the right time?!
..
And thanks everyone else for your nice comments.

Thanks for the comments. I'm guessing you work for Singapore?
Or a VERY frequent flyer on them.
My flight was the first jet flight since 1996, when I was on a Air NZ 737, and in 1995, I flew JAL to Schipol and Heathrow.
Thanks also JMAS

I would do some cropping on pics 2 & 3 at the bottom of the picture; so as to get rid of distracting elements.
By the way those are great shots.

The first shot is my favourite. Unfortunetly when I visited Australia it was for business so I didnt get much time for personal photography, and I was stationed in Brisbane on my last day however my flight left at 6pm so i never had a chance to see the city in the darkness. I didnt know the city was soo beautiful, the night life really brings it out.

Yeah, I get what you mean. The 2nd shot, was straight from the image. No cropping. I could remove some, but then probably lose the left hand bridge support.
And the third? Well I just wanted to include the full rail, and then one without, but same angle (pic #4).
Thanks again. :)
I need to get out shooting more city shots in Auckland. Haven't done any with 20D. Only been on holiday, beach shots, airliners.net shots, and that's about it.

Wow...fantastic photos.
Tell my way you insist on wasting bandwidth and pushing newer post back by bring up post that are a year or more older? It is quite annoying to say the least, you aren't really contributing to the forum. All you ever say about the photo is "Great, or Nice, or Good", I think this "wow, fantastic photos" is the most you've ever commented on a photo.

Thanks for the recent posts.
Just found this myself, when click the posts made by myself. Stood out, knowing that I shot this 18 months go!
Anyway, bandwidth or not, I don't pay for that site.. So thanks anyway.

Warren,
I didn't look at the dates so if Stoneylonesome hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have known this thread was over a year old. At any rate, looking at the first photo, and admitting I'm really new at trying to be a "serious" photographer vice a snapshooter, the brightly lit area in the upper left corner seems overly large to me.
Did you ever consider cropping the left side of the photo slightly to make that corner a little less distracting. If not, why not? I was thinking a crop just to the left of the 2nd bright patch at the top would make the photo seem more balanced to my view.
Of course I would be thrilled to be able to take photos like any of the ones you posted in this thread, so I'm very interested in what you think of my suggestion.
Thanks, Dennis
