Still low on the horizon so there is a lot of disturbance in the atmosphere so I'm gonna try for some more later tonight...but I'm finally happy with a moon shot! :)

Not significantly different then the other shot, but this is with the moon higher off the horizon. Both were taken with the 70-300 and then cropped with adjustments made in lightroom

The contrast looks a bit unnatural. Did you adjust in pp?

Yes I did. Here is the second shot again with contrast set at 0.

They all look good but the last is my favorite . You could use a little USM or Custom SHarpening but very little .

Alright one more. This is the same shot after some adjustments to sharpening. Realized there was some masking going on and that didn't help in the least! haha! This may be too much sharpening...

Can you post the original without any masking ?

Okay, this is the original. The only change made was cropping to get same approximate size. This has 0 masking. The last shot had 0 masking as well

The second version looks best. The original is too flast, the high contrast do not look natural, and the in between version looks great!

haha! I've posted so many pictures so far I'm not sure what you mean by second version....do you mean the picture in post 6 of this thread?

Yes, but I do notice the edges are not real smooth. That may be due to over sharpening.

Got it. Thank you for the feedback. That is my favorite version of the shot now too...yes, I'm still learning in lightroom and have discovered that there definetely IS such a thing as too much contrast...haha!
