Anyone have any idea why on certain images (not all) which I take with my 1DsIII I should get this band of lighter exposure? It's got nothing to do with which lens I'm using.

If you have a clue as to what might be causing this, please pipe up!

Does it change depending on what shutter speed you're using? Could be a shutter issue (sticking etc.).

Looks like your shutter is about ready to die soon. Unfortunate.

Thanks, Jim. I need to do some testing myself with different shutter speeds, etc.

Very unfortunate considering it has only about 2-3000 actuations.

You were right. Canon replaced the entire shutter curtain assembly. Thanks. :)
