Hi all,

I'll be doing my first fashion photoshoot with a friend this week and was wondering how you start your shoots?

Would u start off with a simple pose, get the model comfortable in his/her surroundings, then during the middle of the shoot start getting the model to try complicated or different pose's?.... perhaps chat for a bit then start too shoot?.

I really really really would like to know how you start you shoots.

Mind set/s?

Best way/s to make your model comfortable?

How to get the best out of your model, but not being sleezy or anything along those lines

Break times?

Small chat to the model while photographing, eye contact?

Would really appreciate your comments.

Thanks,
Michael

My take, girls like to talk. Talk.

Girls want to look good. If you don't like what you see...change it, and be polite, no harm there.

Feel confident about what 'you' are doing...makes it easier to direct her/him.

Breaks...yeah, in between lens changes...and if it's hot out...sure, even better.

Always maintain eye contact...otherwise, you might come off as a perv.

Lastly, there's a thread in this forum (G&N talk) that you might want to find...by Jason Cole. It's a good read.

Good luck.

There's also a PDF that has several dozen poses that you could use as a discussion point. Do a search for PDF poses
