View Full Version : NCAA Women: Cleveland St. v Green Bay

The women took a beating at the hands of a fast and well disciplined Green Bay squad. As this game was prior to the men's contest (that I mentioned being a bit off at) it might go without saying that I was a bit off at this one as well. The transitive property of being off knows no bounds... Either way, here's a couple from the game. Rip if needed...

Love the flying sweat in shot#2. Either that was a pretty big collision or someone sweats like Patrick Ewing. :-)

Nice shots, I also really like the sweat in number two. Not sure if I like number 4 with the ball cut in half. The sharp focus on the defender in shot 6 is very nice. I would like to take some defense shots like that in the future.

Pretty solid Scott, really like 1-2 and 4. What do you do for WB when you shoot indoors Scott? These look to have a slight green tint to them but I'm not real confident with my monitor right now.

Thanks Dan and John. Dan, as to your question, I generally shoot a CWB off a simple grey card but frankly, I usually wind up doing something in post anyway. As you can see, EVERYTHING is green in there and to make it worse, they hang this massive green curtain at one end (see image 8). The curtain casts a terrible tint, absorbs an insane amount of light, and also blocks an entire bank (as in 12-14) additional lights. No doubt you could shoot 1/800 at 1000ISO if they simply opened it up. Never happen since they usually have kids/fan activites behind the curtain and they'd never fill the seats for non playoff games so it doesn't look good either.

Yeah there is a lot of green in there. They look good I was just wondering if you do set CWB as I have never liked AWB indoors. When are you getting your MIII?

Hey Scott,
Thanks for the personal note! Great shots again. I'm just a newbie, but I'd like to be able to get results like #'s 1,2, and 6 someday.
Missed you at last Saturdays games, but not surprised considering the horrible weather. But since you couldn't be there, I got my gear out and gave it a shot. Didn't match your quality though. Oh well, see you at the next game.

Post up some shots though, it's absolutely the best way to improve if you aren't satisfied with what you got. I'm sure its better than you think though. I'll definitely look for you at the next home events. Take care until then!
