For a while I thought the 17-40 was overrated. For the first 5 months I had it I was shooting large jpegs ...... and had come to the conclusion that it was an OK lens - but nothing special. In the last month (mainly because of Raw Shooter Essentials whose interface and usability I really like) I've been shooting Raw. Oh my God!! The difference is night and day! It is really like a different lens. That's it for me - I've gone Raw!
Just wanted to mention it.

It's true,. this is the aspect of shooting RAW that gets overlooked when arguments regarding CF card space and processing speed/time pop up.

One needs to unlock the RAW file's full potential before they are truly seeing there equipments full potential.
