Hadn't heard anything from these guys before going to this show, but their name and advertising was pretty hard to miss. Wasn't too impressed with what I shot, Fowlers is a sketchy venue to shoot in at the best of times - the lighting always seems "flat" to me.

Thoughts on these?

2 is nice, though a little bit tight on the crop (or maybe the resize). I also like the angle a lot in 6.

Guess the orange-ish light is what you mean by "flat". You did well with what it looks like you had to work with.

thanks man, yeah that "stale" light was pretty consistent the whole show through :(

i like 6 simply for the look on the guitarists face (and the angle too!)

Depending on the use, I'd almost crop out the right 1/3rd of that photo. My eye is drawn to the crowd and the light around the singer's head. Having the other guitarist back there is OK, but not the most exciting use of the space.

Love the row of prepubescent girls mashed against the stage in #3! These are nice.

Nothing too much to share - just typical music industry bull****.

Another photographer told me that BI expected to use their images for nothing - they were claiming that because the photos were of them they could use them. She was wanting to know if I knew any lawyers - I suggested a very good one but he couldn't help her as they act for BI.

ahh i see. couldn't that photog license the pics to BI? make a quick sale? or were they not willing to pay ANYTHING for them?

They wanted to use but didn't want to pay. There were lawyers involved and stuff.

thanks champ. i always try to get some shots of the crowd in the mix, to illustrate how big/popular the event was.
