My whole life, baseball has been my favorite sport (although now tainted), so you could imagine how interested i was in the congressional hearings yesterday. However, at times during the televised conference, i noticed myself saying to my friends, "Hey, look at that big, white lens on that photographer's camera . . . looks like an L." or "Look . . . that photographer is using a 1Ds."
I also noticed myself doing that a few months ago. I'm a die-hard New York Yankees fan, and was so looking forward to watching Randy Johnson's introductory press conference. However, instead of paying attention to the press conference, i found myself saying, "That guy's using a 550ex . .. oh, there's one of those new 580ex . . . oh, there's a 70-200 L " When all the photographers were taking pictures of "The Big Unit" in the dugout, i found myself staring at the cameras rather than him.
It's amazing . . . i never thought anything could distract me from this sport. . . looks like I have a new "love" in my life. i got tickets to games this year. how much u want to make a bet i will be spending my time staring at the photographers at the end of each dugout rather than watching the game?
