HELLO
About 3 hours ago my wife and I were browsing through a craft shop. I had moved on to the back room where I began admiring a variety of paintings.
I especially liked one that featured a white iron rail window cover. Here the light was playing on the white iron bars and in turn they were casting shadows onto the supporting rose coloured wall. The painting was soft and beautiful.
I mentioned this to the curator who advised that it was actually a Richard Martin photograph. I had never heard of Martin, although he lives in Kingston, about 100 miles to the South of Ottawa. Apparently some of his shots are overlays of 3 images, one of which is in sharp focus.
I thought that you might like to peruse and reflect on the merits of this approach to photography. I have limited technical skills, and for that and other reasons, I lean towards shooting landscapes where my objective is to take "painterly" images.
