hey everybody what's up?

I need some suggestions of the best places/ways to get from a digital image to a large print. Not necesarily poster-size but maybe a bit bigger than 8 1/2 x 11...and good display quality (for selling). (images from Canon D60 btw)

kinkos? camera stores? ???? any ideas, much thanks.

also, if anyone can sum up or point me to a basic guide/how-to for cheap framing/matting (sorry, I'm ignorant) it would be much appreciated.

sorry if i sound lame, I've always been a techie gearhead geek sort (audio pro by day) that happens to have a strong eye, but recently some friends from a local art gallery asked for some prints....so help me figure out how to get them, heheheh!

I know our local Wolf-Ritz Camera will print out any size photo you want from your CF card. Resolution of course being a factor.
Just take your CF card to them and tell them the file you want printed.
I believe a 4X6 is about 99 cents, 5X7 is about $1.99 so on and so on. They use good paper (99 year) and the price isn't that bad.

Boy, as far as cheap framing and matting...not sure there but maybe a Hobby Lobby or another store like that can set you up with the tools and material you need. Worth a try.
Sending out pictures and art work to be framed is terribly expensive so if you come across a place, let me know. ;)

Good luck!

well, i already use a local camera store here that prints great 4x6's for 48cents....i guess i need 8x10, which they can only do on inkjet, but today they pointed me to a good place that can do big ole photo prints....just bought some cheap mattes at walmart...this is probably ghetto, but i'm sure it'll work out
i don't think res will be a problem from the d-60, i havent even busted out the large raw files yet

thanks for the imput though...was beginning to wonder if there was still any life in this forum....heheh

My local lab, UDZ9 (www.udz9photos.com) do a 12 X 18 for AUD$4, which is about US$2 - they're happy to do work for overseas client, and the quality is brilliant... 6X4 works out at about US$.28c, 5X7 for US$.35c, and 8X10 for US$0.75c... they print on a Konica QD21+...

I just had a 60cm X 80cm print from a G2 image, and it's an absolute knockout, so you should get some good stuff from the D60...

Cheers,
Stuart
