Thats ok...I dont either...can you tell me if your black and white prints are quality? Do the Black and white prints have a color tint to them say magenta or green?

I don't have the i9100, but I do have the s9000 and the i9900 the before and after models
That color tint is most likely the results of your paper / ink combination.
See:

for some examples (in the text) of what happens between various papers and the Canon Ink.
You will need to profile each ink/paper combination to get it to work correctly.
Hope it helps,

Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you. that last reply sounds about right. Are you using glossy photo paper? If so then use the canon paper or the best is epson, not the cheapest but it is long lasting. I printed on some epson paper and then on some kodak, the kodak paper stunk literally, and it took a while to dry. The Epson printed fine and was dry enough to print on the back right away. I know this does not solve your problem but starting out with quality paper is a good start.
I also think that you have to get your profile set up so it prints good color and it should fix the black and white problem.
No I have not printed in black & white.
Do you have photoshop?
You can use a color wheel to set up your profile. Its a plug in action. You print it out and it has different variations in color so you can compare it to what you see on your monitor.

Watermark,
what kind of Kodak paper did you use. "everyday photo", "Premium", "Ultima" or "professional".
If everyday or premium, I agree with you; waste of good money.
If Ultima or professional, my results have differed and I get better results then Canon paper.
Could be higher humidity of Seattle area if you are having problems with Ultima.

I had the i9100 before the i9900 and the black.white prints were terrible. I had a magenta haze on them but i didnt get any green. I get some good quality from the i9900, although I would like to see Canon introduce special black/white printing inks (Maybe ChromaLife 10, mwuahaha 10 inks would be awesome).

The i9100 will not produce an acceptable print of any black and white image. It makes either a terrible green cast or magenta cast. The only paper setting that can be used is plain paper. Brand of paper is not germaine to the problem. I was told, only after a very long time on the phone, that there is a problem with the printer's ability to turn off, or control ink supplies. Very murky answer. Try Http:/bj.canon.co.jp/english/photopaper/photoprinttec/digiphoto/ But,... it just ain't there. It's just a paper eatin' machine.
