polaris dual five flash meter

HI all;
i just bought one of these meters. i have two alienbees and i can't get the meter to fire the lights when checking my set up. i know it won't work cordless so i'm using the sync cable but it still won't fire the lamps. what do i need to get the polaris meter to fire my lights
