I've had a few times recently where i've been drunk while taking photos, at social gatherings. I usually get some decent shots, but I have less keepers than when i'm sobre. Last night I didn't take my camera to a party where I knew most people, I was kicking myself all night - there were baby cameras there (A95), but they're just can't hold a candle to a 20D with a 550EX for party photography. On the other hand, i'm not sure carrying around US$2500 while pished is a great idea. But you can get some classic shots, like this (http://www.mrwild.co.nz/PhotoGallery/2005/Tony_M_Farewell/slides/_MG_7650.html) and this (http://www.mrwild.co.nz/PhotoGallery/2005/Tony_M_Farewell/slides/_MG_7625.html).

How do other people find drunken photography?

Atleast you can walk when drunk..or maybe I just drink too much...No matter how hard I tried last friday I couldn't stand up...
I never thought about taking pictures while drunk..maybe I'll try that next time if I'm able to figure out how to turn the camera on.

I tried to use a guys Sony camera, I just couldn't figure out how to use the damn thing, and neither could he - he was more drunk than me. I love my 20D, everything important's on buttons not menus, it's so quick and easy to change things.

I could walk fine last night, though in a bit of a crooked line at times! In the middle of the night my girlfriend found me trying to get into the wardrobe, presumably because I got lost looking for the bathroom ;)

I'll be shooting a wedding and reception and doing fine. At the reception, I can drink a single glass of wine and still do fine. Any more than that, and I have to switch my camera over to Green Box mode to continue.

My Avatar was shot while myself, and the person who grabed my camera were both and well and truely pissed.

And a "baby" camera  can be better than you think for drunken party photos.
I literaly have over a thousand photos of friends, many taken while drunk, with a very high percentage of keepers. They are of course very contextual, i.e. you have to know the people in them, but I have taken some great photographs while rather drunk.

The secret is to preset everything. I set all the shooting modes to settings that will give the best results, then it dosnt really matter what mode I, or someone else shoots in :)

There have been times in my younger years that I wish my car had a Green Box mode. ;)

Kawter, is that full-contact golf?

How do other people find drunken photography? I think there's a LOT of it going around among the Canon engineers! Why else do you think AF & the green box were invented?

I haven't really had many drinking opportunities recently. I much prefer just to follow the drinkers around, and take some hilarious shots. My Coke addiction is a lot worse than Beer. I wonder who ever invented that bubbly cola.

I was going to post a really embarrassing shot of someone, but that is just too mean.
This was shot a year ago with a little Sony P & S.

Another casual shot with 2 drunken subjects. Usually their eyes are wondering, and the mouth is often, gasping for air? or begging for some more drink. :D

I've taken photographs of myself while drunk. Not falling down drunk, just nicely buzzed. I like to dance, so I sometimes use my 'continuous' mode, set to take a pic every minute, then dance away in front of my cam. About one shot in ten turns out well. I've found that slight drunkeness relaxes me so I can easily portray the emotions in my expression that I'm trying to capture. But sometimes I find that what I had thought was brilliant, when viewed the following day while sober, turns out to be just dumb.

Yeah I fully know that white substance. Icing Sugar.

We don't call soft drinks soda, so the common terminology of Soda Addiction doesn't sound right here. :)
So I prefer Coke Addiction, which gives a more serious sound. I really don't do the bad one, only the Coca-Cola.
