I am fairly new to the photography scene and very new to this forum and i was just wondering which of the two macro lenses would best suit me.. i know that should be my decision, but I'm not too good with all the lingo and specs yet.. so the two lenses i am considering are:

MP-E65mm f/2.8

and

EF 100mm f/2.8

My camera is 450D by the way..

I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me a detailed comparison of these lenses..
Price isn't too much of an issue either..

My strong recommendation would be to get a 1:1 macro lens like the Canon 100, Canon 60, Sigma 105, Tamron 90 etc first. The MP-E65 is a very difficult lens to master even if you have experience shooting macro. Those other lenses are more forgiving in that you can focus to infinity if need be, they're cheaper, can double as portrait/telephoto lenses. And even if you do eventually get the MP-E65, you'll still want to keep one of those anyway.

I wrote a thread here about my first impressions of the MP-E when I first got it (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=546940). Might help.
