Yesterday I went to take a few shots and found my battery was very low. I went to get my backup one and it wasn't there. I must have left it plus my charger somewhere on my recent trip. I called the hotels where we stayed but no luck! Can anyone suggest an Ebay dealer that is trustworthy for batteries etc?

Sorry Dan...wish I could help but I get all my stuff from B & H. Good luck, I know it must be frustrating the heck out of you to say the least.

I wouldn't buy any canon batteries off of ebay. I did last year, and ended up getting some very convincing looking knock offs. You're much safer sticking with authorized canon dealers on this one.

Dan:

In your case, I would go to Best Buy or Circuit City or a local Photo Shop and get what you need. It would be better than waiting for 3-5 days for delivery..

I ordered two batteries on ebay and they seem fine. They arrived quite quickly too. I tried to buy a charger and did eventually find one, a universal one. It works but I managed to break one of the little flanges the first time I used it. It still works but I have to put an elastic band around it to hold the battery in place while its charging. Fortunately my regular charger has been found and should be in the mail back to me.

SterlingTek seems to always get good reviews on the photography forums. I've used their batteries previously in my Canon XTi (sold) and now in my Canon 40D. Absolutely no problems and they seem to last longer than the Canon batteries.

I bought two BP511A replacements from Sterlingtek and they have been rock solid. Now I don't know about the chargers, but I hear they are OK, from reading the forums.
