I notice that Canon's 24-70L can close focus to about 6" at 70mm. How well would this do for close-ups of flowers or bugs? I was thinking about using one for cherry blossoms in a few weeks. Any usage tips to share or advice?
Thanks,
Sagebrush

It's not a macro lens, but it doesn't sound too bad for macro work. It's only 1:3.5 ratio, macro lenses are typically at least 1:1.

Get some extension tubes, the Canon 12mm ones work well with the 24-70.

It's not a true Macro but with extension tubes it's not bad
