HELP! Recorded movies on Canon 1100 play back in fast forward mode. Is there a way to fix this?

Is this in-camera or on your computer?

Checking the manual, and the similar configuration on my A630, I don't believe you actually have a "Fast Forward" mode. What settings are you using for recording pixels and frame rates?

where do I find that out? All I know is when I hit play, the movie plays back in fast forward mode.

"Play", the single triangle, not "Slow Motion", the triangle with a line at the base? To find out your shooting mode, put the camera in Movie mode and press the Func. Set button. To see the screen resolution, still in Movie mode, press the Func. Set button and go down to the bottom sidebar option (it'll usually show "640". If you're in "Time Lapse" mode, a video may appear to be in fast forward since it plays back at 15 fps regardless of the recording interval. Does the video play back "normally" when you play it on a computer?

It was on time lapse...is there anyway to save those movies in normal mode or will they play back normally once downloaded to a computer?

If it was on time lapse, try using the "Slow Motion" playback option on playback (arrowhead with the line, next to the regular Playback button). Playing back on the computer, it'll depend on what your player supports. But remember, if it was shot at 10 sec. intervals, it's going to look jerky played back at almost any faster speed, and there's no intermediate data to smooth things out with.
