1600 easily usable, 3200 a bit pushing it, but usable with noise ninja. At 3200, you can't afford to under expose your shots.
No, I don't want to sell my 5D.

The 5D2 at ISO 3200 looks like it's pushing ISO 800. IQ is amazing.

3200 is usable but 3200 is great if you bounce even just a touch of flash off something. Anything, just bounce a small amount of flash into the shot and it makes the 3200 1600 sing real nice.

I moved this to Talk as you do not have an image to share.
I go as high as 1600. If that doesn't work, the flash goes on. I always put some kind of reflector or diffuser so the wedding dress is not blown out, but the 5D is so good with low light, I rarely have problems.

In general use I won't go past 1600, but 3200 isn't too bad if you need it--but like others have said, you really have to nail the exposure, as any adjustments will bring out a lot of noise. You also have to watch out for banding in the shadows at 3200 if you make adjustments.

I dont think 3200 is pushing it on a 5D. It works well and im real happy with its noise tolerances over all.

Works a treat for me. As you mentioned, nailing the exposure is crucial at this level.

Well, it obviously depends on your own standards... I have some good shots at 3200, and some nasty ones, while a have a much higher percentage of keepers at 1600. So for me, 3200 is a gamble, while 1600 is pretty "safe." YMMV.

5D at ISO3200 is fine, if you need it. I tend to add light before then, often radio triggered to make life easier.

5D at 3200 is beyond fine, plus if you print it out you will never see the noise anyways.
