Well sort of...Have not shot Bball in about 25 years and was asked to shoot a Grade 8 tournament last weekend. Generally all the timing came back to me (fortunately the players were good but not too fast) and I was happy with the results. I keyed on ball handlers for the most part and action below the net. Had a bit of struggle with framing (shooting mostly vertical) as well as with white balance a bit. Used my 40D with the 70-200 f2.8L and also my EFS 17-55 f2.8 which produced very good results (in some cases as sharp or sharper than the 70-200), plus some neat perspectives. EXIF is attached and I played around with settings a bit, but all shot at generally at 1600ISO 1/400 shutter and f2.8 or 3.2. Think I'll try and keep at a higher shutter speed next time as I did get some ball and foot blur in some shots, but still acceptable. C and C appreciated. All 12 games worth of action can be found at http://www.cjscons.com/roms

Wow, that is a VERY well lit gym. This past weekend I was shooting ISO 3200, 1/400, f/2.0! Luckly, our home gym has windows running down both sides and light isn't too much a problem there.

Those are great! I assume some post-processing perhaps noise reduction was done?

Yep this was a VERY new and well lit gym, so I had a bit of "luxury" so to speak for my first time shooting Bball in many years. I also really liked the generally nice clean backgrounds.

There was a little post processing done to adjust white balance and exposure (levels, blacks) a tad. As to noise reduction, at 1600 ISO I pretty much leave these at the Lightroom default settings and all seems to come out fine. Some images show a bit of noise but nothing that really troubles me.
