Always Have It Ready

Summer feels like it's hit in England. Last week you could still find bit of snow. This week I'm driving around with the windows right down. Go figure!

So I went to a large park the other side of town because I knew everyone would be out and I could practice my candid shooting, and also be on the look out for models.
I sat and shot for half an hour, not really seeing anything interesting. Then as I'm almost out of the park on the way back to the car, a woman who I'd seen kicking a ball about with her man earlier started chasing one of her sons. with a bottle of water.
Lucky for me I had the camera in my hand, on, and on sports mode. I didn't even really have time to frame her. As soon as I'd managed to turn around and get it to my eye I fired.
So the moral of the story is never to give up, and always be prepared.

very true, it seems like I get some of my better photos when I'm about to leave where I'm at but decided to just keep the camera in my hand rather than putting it up.
I hope it warms up around here soon, I'll be glad to be able to walk around outside without freezing.

The shot as you see it has been cropped a bit. Took some off the right and zoomed in a bit, which is what I would have done if I'd had more time to prepare.

Weird weather indeed. Snowballing one weekend, barbeque the next. Cant really rely on it though until the end of April/early May.

Nice shot, and an AMEN to the weather situation. Although the downside is, I've just spent the best part of 18 hours in the garden preparing for new grass to be laid. Women...I'm thinking good weather get the camera out, she's thinking good weather, he can get the lawn mower out...great weekend...yeah right :(
