Just a stray we picked up at the shelter.

How can I take better pet pictures I find myself practicing on him alot.

Turn up your ISO, increase your shutter speed, find more interesting light. Learn to use your windows and see how the light differs as it comes in at different times of the day.

Really crank the ISO and learn to use your house lights.

Turn down the ISO and learn to bounce your flash off the walls behind you and to the sides, not just the ceiling.

btw, the most impressive pet photos you see here are due mostly to the light that they used rather than the camera settings or lens. Find your best windows and best times to use them.

yeah try and catch your cute kitty looking out the window-that will creat life to his eyes by adding catch lights :)
