I recently purchased a 1DMk2n. I'm having trouble connecting to my computer via EOS Utilities. I've tried using two Firewire cables, but I'm unable to make any sort of a connection. The USB on the camera connects fine to my computer, but to access the Utils program, I know I have to use firewire. Also, I know that the cable and port work fine, as I've tested it on a HDD.
Here's what I have installed:
Current version of Canon RAW Codec
DPP 3.5
EOS Utilities 2.5.1 (2.5 something)
I'm using Vista, which I think may explain the problem. I've tried finding Vista Firewire TWAIN/WIA drivers, but nothing seems to work. Anyone else have this problem? I ran through a number of searches on google and on here to no avail, so I'm not trying to be "that" guy ;).
Thanks!

Install the Chipset Drivers for your motherboard/computer. The mass storage / Firewire driver may have become corrupt. The TWAIN driver in most all cases works via any port compatibile with the device it was made for so there is no need reinstalling it. Also, test the camera on another computer and see if it asks for a TWAIN driver - that would mean it works. Also, try fiddling with the connctions - there may be a pin loose.

Thanks for the response!
I tried the camera on a neighbor's computer and it asked me for drivers. I'll try resintalling the chipset drivers tomorrow.

It won't work with Vista. I tried everything.
You need to find a machine with XP. It connected perfectly on XP.

I tried reinstalling the chipset drivers -- no luck.
I don't have a comp. with XP, so I guess I'll have to wait it out.
Thanks for the responses everyone -- feel free to chime in if anyone gets more info.

I used the FW port on my 1D2 and it is just painfully slow compared to a good USB card reader.
Pulling out the rubber port cover every time also got annoying.
Go for the SanDisk one, I have it and it's great! It was only like $20 bucks online somewhere.
