I was out shooting some Geese this morning in the local swamp(s) and I disturbed this Sand Hill Crane whom made his croaks sound of displeasure as he flew very near over the top of me . . . I wish I could have seen him and got a photograph on the ground, but this will have to do for today. I have seen three Blue Heron and some white Pelicans off in the distance. So hopefully I will be able to catch these in the next few weeks or so. I like these birds but they sure eat a lot of grain, lol. ;)

RJ, you are by far the most prolific wildlife shooter on this forum. Thanks for giving us so many nice images to look at ... as I said before you truly reside in God's country. Well done!

100-400 strikes again. Cool shot. I've only seen these guys from a long way off.

Hope you don't mind, Rod, but here's a shot, taken a couple years ago, of the Florida sandhill cranes. They will actually come pretty close to people in some cases.

You are always welcome Stan . . . is that what they look like? They are a tad on the tough side out here. Also ours have a deep almost maroon color on the head. I think the cranes are a beautiful bird.

Ours are smaller than the ones who simply winter here, but I like all of them. I enjoy watching their mating dance.
