The title comes from a book I read a long time ago when stationed in Germany. Yesterday I put my Fur Person and good friend to rest upon finding that cancer had taken most of his lungs after blood work and a chest film. He has always been dignified and fun loving. So I have sent him to wait for me on the other side of the bridge until we can meet and resume our hoodlum ways. I would like to share my friend with you all Mr Bronx. He has shared life with me since October of 1995 and he brings a smile to all who meet him. Of the many images I have taken of him I lke this one. The second images is the only one were we are photographed together, it was taken yesterday at the hospital before we parted company. Thank you for taking a look!

I am so sorry for your loss. He obviously had a good life with a loving pet (people don't own cats; they're owned by them).

What a great companion you had....its hard to think of it as being lucky at this time, but we who share our lives and love with our furry beasts are the luckiest.

Thanks for your comment, I think our time together was more of partnership. We took care of each other. For this type of relationship is very special. Again thanks for your kind comment. Pete

I, too, call my cats Fur People. When my kids were little they had a book called something like "The Little Fur Family" and I consider each of my cats a Fur Person, so I can relate to you there. Your Fur Person was absolutely beautiful and I am so sorry for your loss. I was in a similar situation once, and I cried for about a week afterwards. No matter how much you feel like you are doing the right thing, it is so unbelievably heartbreaking. You will always feel the loss even as you will always have the good memories. Even though I do not know you personally, as another "cat person" I am thinking of you and wishing you well. >^..^<

Thank you for your comments and kind words. The Bronx was very kind Fur Person and shared a wondeful life with me and me with him. Never would have thought when he came to share life with me how close our lives would be. Again thank you very much for your kind and warm thoughts my fellow "cat person" Pete

Thank you for your thoughts and comments. We did share a good life together and it will be a little lonely for a time, but I do find the smile in the heart when I remeber sharing so much with him. Thank you very much. Pete
