Looks like a new box car and an old freight house . . . which just tickles me. Nice shot.

Yup sure do Those where all Frieght houses back when the Central New England and later the New Haven ran it. the station was about 3 miles south. and another whistle stop about 4 miles North. that's the only siding left.

Nice shot 4nR

I think this would be a good candidate for b&w. :0)

The B&W looks great. Hope you don't mind but I thought I'd post a photo of the engine that pulls those cars, well used to anyway, they've been on that siding for at least 4 years. They were involved, I think, in a slight mishap. Seems they derailed and fell over so they may have some damaged that is not really visable.

Here is the engine(s)

here's a little update to one of the photos. let me know what you guys think. i tried to give it a harsh contrast / old photo look. maybe i should give it a little sepia tone ?http://img11.exs.cx/img11/69/trainstationbwsharp4aw.jpg

Not bad, I think though it has a little to much on the red side. If it was brought a little more to the brown/yellow tint. it would work a lot better... I'd take the original again and convert that to sepia and see what happens. That's the trouble with digital and post processing, just to many choices.  but it sure is fun, and you could never do it with film.    Well you could, after developed the film scanned it in and than started.

How about adding a little niose, say about 4%-5%, Gaussian distribution, with B&W with a little sepia. I tried it, and I think it looked art-book-like. Nice photo.

i think i used unsharp mask, desat, then levels but there are lots of other ways to get the same effect.

ok, i've taken into consideration your suggestions. let me know what you guys think. i think its better than the other one, and that noise really does add to it a little more. http://img196.exs.cx/img196/4828/trainstationsepiafixed3kr.jpg
